Like other countries, we are no different in facts that are strange, quirky, unbelievable but real and very true. Colourful, dynamic and setting trends across the globe! Come along and join me on a facts journey that will suprise you, make you laugh, as I share my personal experiences with you!

Did you bring tissues with you? You will snort with laughter and cry at times. Be ready to be confused and amazed.

Number 1. It Takes Longer to Boil an Egg in Johannesburg

You might think boiling an egg is the same everywhere. But in Johannesburg, it takes a full minute longer than in Cape Town or Durban. Why? Johannesburg sits 2,000 metres above sea level. At high altitudes, air pressure is lower, which means water boils at a lower temperature and food takes longer to cook. It is a small but perfect example of how geography affects everyday life.

Unbelievable right? Hilarious
Funny but true

2. A Country Within a Country

Did you know that South Africa contains another fully independent country inside its own borders? The tiny kingdom of Lesotho is completely surrounded by South Africa. Known as the 'Kingdom of the Sky,' Lesotho is the only country in the world that lies entirely above 1,000 metres above sea level. Much of South Africa's water supply actually comes from Lesotho's snow-capped mountain peaks. Rich in culture and friendly people.
